Title: A simple Invitation?

An article that came out a few years back reports some surprising information. Over a three-year period, a team of 17 men and women surveyed people, in all fifty states, who do NOT go to church! Here is what they found. 1. People who do not go to Church say if they did, they would prefer to attend on Sunday Morning. 2. If invited, 96% of these who do not go to church are somewhat likely to attend Church. 3. Very few of these people have had someone share with them how to become a Christian. 4. Most of the people who do not go to Church have a positive view of Pastors and the Church. 5. These people who do not go to Church said they would like to develop a real and sincere relationship with a Christian. The article contained several more interesting pieces of data. Yet, these five are enough to knock you out of your seat. What this means is that most people who do not go to Church would go if someone simply invited them. On top of that, they would like to go on Sunday Morning, with a Christian with whom they have a relationship. What are we doing to reach these people? Listening to the mantra of the media that the church is irrelevant and no one is interested? Curling up in a corner thinking no one is interested in learning more about Christ? One other piece of information was that these attitudes did not really change much based on where people live, their ethnic or racial background, or their gender. What this means is that most people who don’t go to Church, according to this survey, share these attitudes. That means the people who are a part of your life, likely hold these attitudes also. WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR? Don’t try to reach out to the world. Just reach out to that small group of people, who have no relationship with Jesus, who are in your life. Live a life of Christian integrity, and tell them of the impact Christ has made on your life. Once you have their attention, invite them to Church. You just might be a part of changing someone’s eternal destiny.
