This summer has been a tad on the crazy side. We had two camps in three weeks to start us off with Survivor and Student Life in San Angelo.
Summers in student ministry are always exciting, always busy, always moving, and always carries the unexpected! God challenges students, moves students, and sometimes forces his way in to the unwelcome areas of their lives.
It is awesome to see God moving in the lives of our students. We had 6 students go to Canada last week, we have 5 more going to Moldova this week. They are thinking outside the scope of their world and trying to find a way to serve those who take time, effort, and money to impact the lives of people they do not even know.
I am so proud of their commitment to ministering to those outside of our country, and proud of the ones that will be finding opportunities to minister to those in Midland. They are all a part of the same calling...the calling to reach those in Jeruselem, Judea and Samaria, and the ends of the earth. We should look at these students with the understanding they are setting an example for all of us to follow.
It will require change, some hard and some not so difficult. It will require obedience, trust, faith, and the knowledge that God has set the path before you; not for your comfort, but for the sake of his Kingdom.
I have had some life changes of my own this summer. As some of you know, Lindsey and I are expecting our first child. We are anticipating a late February baby, and would greatly appreciate your prayers as we prepare to bring a child into the world and be the best parents we can be.
Change will never cease; because God is always at work.
God bless!
