Title: Calling all talents, hobbies, and skills!

Have you noticed all the activity in our church building recently? All the dust, mud, paint, and fumes are signs that good things are happening. And that's just in our existing building. Soon, things will begin taking shape for the new building.

In my quiet time I've been reading in Exodus (chapters 31, 35-36) about the building of the tabernacle. It's a lot like what's happening at Fannin now. God needed specific materials, resources, skills, and talents to build the tabernacle exactly how He designed it. But God didn't just give the instructions to Moses and say "Okay, have fun getting this done." No, God gave the instructions, then He equipped individuals with the skills and talents necessary to carry them out.

But God didn't stop there. Resources were needed too, like gold, silver, animal hides, linen, and wood. So God told the people to give. And you know what? They gave so much, Moses had to tell them to stop (Exodus 36:6-7). Can you imagine?

When God gives direction for a task He will supply what is needed to accomplish it. Fannin has been blessed with great talent and many resources. We have everything we need among our people to obediently follow God's direction. But it will take all of us obediently giving of our time, talents, gifts, and finances.

What do you think? How have you seen God working at Fannin through our gifts, talents, and resources? Let's start thanking Him for what He's done and what He's doing!
