Title: See any burning bushes?

Look around. Do you see any bushes burning? Is God trying to get your attention?

I just read Exodus 3 - 5 this morning in my Bible reading. While herding sheep in the wilderness Moses saw an unusual sight - a bush was on fire, but it wasn't burning up. He had to take a closer look. When Moses came near, God spoke to him out of the bush. Moses recognized God's holiness but yet questioned His wisdom in choosing him for an assignment. Huh? Moses was afraid to look at God (3:6), but not afraid to questions God's directive (3:11).

You know the story, after a lot of excuses Moses finally obeyed. God is so patient. We read the story and can't believe Moses had the audacity to argue with God. But don't we do the same thing all the time? We recognize the obvious activity of God around us. We hear that quiet invitation to get involved with what He's doing. But then we say, "I don't have the time. I'm not equipped for that." I think you have the wrong person, send someone else."

Take a few minutes today and look around for burning bushes. Then pay attention to what you hear God say.
